CPP Investments Discover Capital Markets Internship Program

Eligibility: Students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and Arts programs within their first- or second-year of study looking for temporary opportunities between school terms.

Program Type: Four months (May – August)

Positions are advertised: December (Four months prior to start)

The CPP Investments Discover Capital Markets Internship Program was developed for women in undergraduate STEM programs who are highly analytical, interested in business issues and curious about career opportunities in finance and investments.

Placements will be within one of CPP Investments’ participating quantitative Departments: Total Fund ManagementCapital Markets & Factor Investing and Credit Investments.  Our interns learn continuously on the job, and via formal training, from global industry experts. On day one, interns start receiving the skills and knowledge needed for success.

Technical Skills Training: Formal training in such areas as financial and capital markets fundamentals, Excel, VBA, Python and Bloomberg.

Business Skills and Knowledge Training: Formal training in general business acumen, including business writing, presentation skills and relationship building.

Prescribed On-the-Job Experiences: Hands-on work assignments give broad exposure and understanding of the work we do at CPP Investments.

Networking Events: These opportunities are designed to help you build connections, share experiences and learn more about our organization and industry.

Total Fund Management and Capital Markets & Factor Investing Opportunities

Eligibility: Students between their first and penultimate years of study looking for temporary opportunities between school terms. Bachelor and advanced degree students are welcome to apply.

Program Type: Four months to one year in length (starting January, May & September)

Positions are advertised: December, April, August (four-to-12 months prior to start)

The Total Fund Management and Capital Markets & Factor Investing Group hires interns throughout the year, for the fall, winter or summer terms. Internships typically last four months but can also be eight-to-12 months. Students in a formal co-op program or seeking a summer internship are encouraged to monitor our job boards throughout the year.

The internship program is a talent pipeline to full-time opportunities on our teams.

Senior Summer Associate Internships

Eligibility: Students in a full-time MBA program looking for temporary opportunities between school terms.

CPP Investments is a large, sophisticated public pension investment organizations. As one of the world’s 10 largest retirement funds, we are able to undertake very large public and private transactions with which few others can compete.

Program Type: Three-to-four months (May – August)

Positions are advertised: September (Nine months prior to start)

Our Investment groups target top talent emerging from MBA schools globally to join us for the summer term, with opportunities for full-time employment after graduation. Positions posted vary each year based on business needs, and are typically in the following departments:
